make sure that you have turned on your wifi (physical switch or something) and then try to connect to an open access point first (anywhere nearby). there are so many possibilities. good luck!

i did all the things you said and the message didn’t appear anymore after i reboot the computer. however, my laptop can’t detect any wireless connections anymore. it says “no connections are available”. so what do i do now?

For those interested, this procedure resets the Windows Sockets which can become corruted by malware or poor software.
