Hate Windows Vista Default Start Menu? Switch to Classic!
December 17, 2008 – 10:23 pmI have been using Windows for quite a long time yet I still don’t understand why Windows fail (strictly my opinion) to improve its “Start Menu”. I must admit that I hate the new, default Windows Vista start menu and I still prefer the “Classic” version more. Honestly, the way the default Vista Start Menu works is just clunky and man, I hate those expandable applications menu / sub-menu. Thankfully, changing the default Start Menu to the old, classic version is a breeze. It’s so easy!

Right click on any part of the Windows Vista taskbar and select “Properties”.

Choose the “Start Menu” tab and select “Classic Start Menu”. Click the “Customize” button to hide / show some of the menu options.

Lastly, press the “Apply” button and click on “OK”. You are done!

Just in case that you miss the default Search Box, I recommend that you install Find and Run Robot (FARR) and Locate32 (both are F.O.C) for even faster application / file search response. Till next time!
