Atmosphere Lite - Bring The Nature to Your Desktop
May 19, 2008 – 10:23 pmThe problem with songs is that sometimes it gets too loud. Unlike some music-listening hardcores out there, I can’t write or think well when there are loud noises coming out from the PC speaker. However, the environment can get pretty boring when it’s too silent! To overcome this problem, I’ve tried a desktop tool called Atmosphere Lite .

According to its developers, Atmosphere Lite was created to help mask noise, promote relaxation or just to add some background while you use your PC. When things get pretty boring, you just need to run Atmosphere Lite in the background to enjoy some natural sounds.

What Atmosphere Lite offers:
- Comes with a decent collection of nature based sounds like deep forest, rainy day, oceans edge, woodland campfire and more. Each selection comes with preconfigured background and random sounds that you can tweak as you please.
- Save and load your own configured natural sounds based on background sounds like light rain etc. and random sounds like thunder roll, bull frog, etc.
- Sound sliders to tweak the master, background or random sounds volume.
- Binaural Sounds - if nature bores you to death, try sounds that alter your brainwaves to bring different states of mind. Choose from alpha, beta, delta and theta waves. For example, choose theta waves to associate yourselves with creativity and free flowing thoughts (tell me if this one works for you!)
- Visual slideshow mode to get you in the mood.
- Built in alarm clock.
- Record and play your own nature sounds!
If you want some natural ambience to get in the mood, Atmosphere Lite is a pretty decent choice. Till then, I am going to enjoy my “Rainforest” sounds now!

Nice utility . Reminds me of a Nature screensaver in Windows 98

Even these sounds help to calm the mind… A better utility if I had a better RAM…

@Pavan: Indeed. But it does not each that much RAM.
@Madhur: Yeah, but the screensaver in this one can be turned on and off.

Hey Syahid,
Great find, I can’t wait to try it, as I love nature.
Stumbled and twittered.
Regards.

I love this program, used to have it, now I can’t find any download link that works for it, including yours. Does anyone know where I can get this? Thank You.
