Get Groovy with Grooveshark Lite Online Jukebox
May 4, 2008 – 11:00 pmHave you ever tried an online music jukebox before? It’s actually a music player that you can use to search for songs and play it within your web browser, without having to download anything. I’ve previously blogged about Songza (which has one of the best interfaces that I’ve ever seen) and this time; let’s get groovy with Grooveshark Lite.

nbsp;
Grooveshark Lite provides an easier, everything-on-one-page interface to Grooveshark, an online service that allows you to listen, download and share music files online. Finding songs to listen to is easy, just enter an artist or song name on the search field or select from the four image icons at the bottom of it - All Music to find songs like an original jukebox, My Music for songs that you have saved to Grooveshark, Recent for recently played songs or Popular for current, popular song selections on Grooveshark.

Once you have entered a song to search for, Grooveshark will display the results in a manner where you can filter the results by Artists, Albums or Genre. Next, you can play the song or add it to Grooveshark’s play list. Additionally, you can click on the arrow at the end of a search result for more actions such as an option to share this song, download the song for a nominal fee, save it to a permanent play list and more. Do remember that some of the functions like the ability to save playlists will work only if you have registered with Grooveshark, which I personally recommended that you do so.

You can start listen and control your songs using the music player at bottom left of Grooveshark. All added songs will be displayed on the play list next to it, where you can drag and drop the songs to arrange your play list.

Additionally, you can add songs from your local computer to take full advantage of Grooveshark, with a tool called Sharkbite. If you haven’t tried an online jukebox before, give Grooveshark a run - it only takes less than 3 minutes to start listening to any of your favorite songs. You might like Grooveshark too, as I do.

Another site that I really love for online music listening is Songza. It has just about every song you can imagine and allows you to create playlists and watch the videos of the songs. Thanks!
