Digsby IM Client Goes Beta - Free for All!

March 30, 2008 – 10:49 pm

Digsby, the instant messaging and social network client had gone public a few days ago - that means you don’t have to wait for an invite code to try it anymore. If you haven’t join the legions of Digsby fans, you can download the desktop client here. Believe me, the client is pretty impressive, even it is still on beta. Moreover, the Digsby team had responded well to user comments by adding some nice, interesting new features.

New added features in Digsby:

  • Twitter support - just what I need. I hope they will add support for other microblogging services like Pownce and Jaiku next.

  • Audio/Video chat with the help of TokBox.

  • Spell check - currently for English only. They plan to add 50+ more, that’s good enough for me.

  • “Listening to… status” - now you can show off what you are listening right now in WinAmp / iTunes via your status message.

  • Block support - block nasty contacts via a simple right click action.

  • Full screen preferences - this will let you instruct how Digsby should act when you are running other applications in full screen.
