Quick Tip – Batch Uninstall Windows Program
February 26, 2008 – 11:00 pmAs a tech blogger, I’ve installed a lot of programs to get the best out free software but sometimes I forgot to remove them once I’ve finished testing them. The next time I open “Add/Remove Programs“, there are a lot of unused applications that need to be uninstalled. The problem is that the default Windows uninstaller interface is quite cumbersome because I need to select one applications after another to remove multiple programs.
Thanks to a wonderful program called Glary Utilities, I can now select few Windows programs and batch uninstall them in one shot.

How Batch Uninstall Works
Glary Utilities is an all-in-one free computer maintenance software that caters all your system maintenance needs. One of the most useful feature is the “Uninstall Manager” module, which can be used to uninstall multiple programs in batch. You can access the module from the “Clean Up and Repair” menu tab.

Click the “Batch Uninstall” button and the default list will change to a list selectable checkboxes. Select all applications that you wish to remove and click the “Uninstall Program” button.

Each of the uninstallation executable for each software will pop out one by one, prompting you to proceed with its removal process. This way, you don’t have to wait and make uninstallation selections one by one. Much nicer isn’t it?

Say there is a bunch of programs that i want to stop people from installing and i want to create a batch file to run say… once a week that automatically uninstalls these programs. I can push the batch file or vbs file through sccm. Will this program be able to help me?

That’s really useful. I tend to go through the Windows uninstall every few months and have a clear out – this will make that a lot easier…
