Fill in Web Forms Quickly with InFormEnter
February 25, 2008 – 4:13 pmBefore the IT era, we fill in forms with a pen on paper. Things do not get so well with the emergence of computer technologies too. To use a web service, we still have to type the same personal information over and over again, which still takes a lot of time. That is one of the reasons why I hate filling in web forms. Thanks to the creation of the so called “form filler” products, I don’t have to do those mundane, repetitive tasks over and over again. InFormEnter is one that certainly falls in the form filler technology.

InFormEnter is a Mozilla Firefox plugin that adds a small, clickable icon next to every input field in a web form. By clicking the icon, you can select a pre-configured, frequently used web information to be added, without the need to type the same information all over again. You can add as many information that you want, in multiple selectable profiles.
How InFormEnter Works
1- Open your Firefox web browser and install InFormEnter. Restart browser to activate this plugin.
2- You can find a blue, InFormEnter status icon on bottom right corner of Mozilla Firefox. Left click on the icon and select “InFormEnter Options“.

3- On the “Profiles Management” tab, add your frequently used information one item per line, with a hash (#) separating the input text and InFormEnter menu item name. For example,

4- The next time you open any website which requires you to fill in web forms, you will notice that the InFormEnter icon appear next to all the available input boxes. You can either left click the InFormEnter icon or press the “Insert” button on the keyboard to select the information that you want to use from the information list. Press Enter once you have made your selection.

5- (Optional) If you have setup different profiles to differentiate multiple kinds of information, you can right click on the InFormEnter icon to choose the appropriate one.
Much quicker isn’t it? Now you use InFormEnter to fill in Wordpress comments form, email registration form and many more! You may not want to use InFormEnter to store your password because it does not provide any form of password hashing or encryption. Most of the time, I use InFormEnter to fill in text fields with long phrases such as my home and office address. Once you get the hang of it, you will notice that filling in web forms is just plain simple and quick with InFormEnter. Try it today!
