Quick Tip: Find Word Definition from Browser Address Bar

February 17, 2008 – 11:43 pm

Do you know that you can quickly find the meaning of any word, using only the web browser Address Bar? For example, if you don’t know the meaning of “slothful“, just type http://answers.com/slothful inside the Address Bar and you will be redirected to the Answers.com web page with the full definition of “slothful“. If you are lucky, Answers.com will also provide you with words of similar meanings! Any word will do, as long as you type in the answers.com URL followed with your choice of word at the end.

And yeah, I am feeling “slothful” today. :D

  3. Actually, if you are using Firefox, you just need to choose Answers.com from the pull down menu of the search bar to the right, and then type in any word or keyword term… So you’d just have to write ’slothful’ and an Answers.com page would come up.
