Quote a Website / Blog Online Easily with Kwout
January 10, 2008 – 3:07 pmKwout (what a name!) is a web application that allows you to quote any website into an image with an image map. Kwout makes it easier for you to quote fellow bloggers’s post or pictures online, without having to spend too much time editing and formatting it.

To use Kwout, you need to drag Kwout bookmarklet in Kwout’s homepage and drop it to your Mozilla Firefox bookmark toolbar. Very simple indeed.

For example - I am going to quote a post from Life Rocks 2.0, a technology blog worth visiting by Nirmal. The soon to be created quote will link out the the original post in Nirmal’s blog. The next thing to do is to click the “Kwout bookmarklet” to create an image quote.

Kwout will then open this site in another window, where you can drag and select the section of the blog that you want to quote. You can also resize this section too! Click the “Cut out” button once you are finished.

Kwout will then display the quote image in another page, where you can change the quote options. You can have your quote displayed with or without borders, round edges and drop shadows. Try it and you can test out all the options!

By default, Kwout will show you HTML codes to the image quote, so that you can post it inside your blog. You can also post your quote to Flickr image directory or your Tumblr microblog. The choice is yours.

FYI, the image quote will be stored inside Kwout’s servers for as long as you want, which is a big plus for this free service. Here is what a sample Kwout’s image quote looks like.

@kuanhoong: Hehe. Nirmal’s site is a good example and deserved a quote.
