How to Successfully Restore a Mozilla Firefox Session
January 2, 2008 – 10:20 pmOne of the most useful features of Firefox 2 is “Session Restore” - a feature that will restore your Mozilla Firefox to its previous state (open tabs, session passwords, etc.)before any crash happens. The only problem I have with this is that sometimes it does not work for me, so here is what I do to overcome this.

Normally the crash will happen when you are opening a lot of tabs and Firefox starts consuming a lot of available memory (sometimes the status of Firefox changed to “Not Responding“). What I did when this happen is whenever I suspect a crash is going to occur, I will click on my Windows Taskbar and open my Task Manager.
Next, I will select Mozilla Firefox process (firefox.exe) on the “Processes” task list and click “End Process” to quickly shut down Firefox. I will then open my Mozilla Firefox again and the “Session Restore” option will pop-up. By clicking the restore button, I can continue browsing the previously crashed session.

I’ve tried this trick a few time and it always worked perfectly. Try it yourselves (you may have to think how to crash your Firefox on purpose first!) and have a trouble-free browsing time!
