3 StumbleUpon Alternatives to Discover Interesting Websites
December 30, 2007 – 8:03 pmYeah, you love StumbleUpon till death because it gets you out of boredom by discovering new “wow!, I’ve never knew this exists!” sites from the Internet.
Yet, if you are feeling StumbleUpon is not enough and have all the time in the world to waste, there are at least 3 more StumbleUpon-like alternatives to discover more good, interesting websites from the Internet.

1- Youlicit
From the website: “Youlicit recommends more quality sites like the one you’re on with just one click!“.
You need to install the Youlicit Firefox add-on or Youlicit Firefox Bookmarklets to get started. There are three buttons that makes Youlicit:
- “Y” button - Clicking this button will get you a list of similar sites like the one you are browsing at that time.
- “Next” button - Click on this to go directly to a similar site.
- “A-OK” button - Recommend a good site to Youlicit. (registration needed)
Youlicit is a little bit like StumbleUpon, minus the fan votes. It’s completely a guided tour to the entire WWW.
2- SpinSnap
From the website: “Spinsnap.com is a new concept we like to call a Discovery Engine. Think of this as Channel Surfing on the internet..“
SpinSnap, to put it simply, is a discovery website for interesting things on the Internet. It offers tags on its frontpage that you can click to find things you like from many categories. Just like the “Stumble” button in StumbleUpon, here it is called the “Spin Again ” link.

SpinSnap does not have a Firefox add-ons / bookmarklets, it just operates from within the website. It also differentiates findings based on websites, music and people.
3- Streakr
From the website: “Streakr is both a technology and a community, which combine to give you magical web surfing powers that guide you to a wide variety of sites and content that might otherwise go undiscovered“
Streakr is like an imitation of StumbleUpon . It has a toolbar called the “Discovery bar” that you can use to discover and rate websites as you surf. What you rate then will be shared by the Streakr community (”collective rating”) to benefit from.
Still in beta . Test it and share your thoughts here.
There you are, 3 alternatives to discover interesting, ravishing websites without breaking a sweat. There are many differences between these tools, but the goal to provide you with the best information on the Internet makes that irrelevant. Enjoy!

but out of those 3, I still think StumbleUpon looks nicer. Anyway, will take my time to review the alternative sites.
