10 Most Useful Twitter Bots List
December 13, 2007 – 4:13 pmTwitter bots are special Twitter users that provides you with useful information , and sometimes just plain fun stuffs. There are two types of Twitter bots:-
-
Auto reply bots – you have to send a direct message to this bot to get information
- Announcement bots – simple message broadcasted to you once you start following this bot

Crunchbase bot @cbbot is great if you like to know about start-ups. I think one needs to think of Twitter as more of an operating system. Not only will we start to see more bots, but we are just beginning to see “smart” apps too. http://www.phweep.com is a VOIP that runs on Twitter. Soon we will see businesses starting to write to the Twitter API to extend their models into the Twittersphere.

We just created a bot that lets you check prices over Twitter.
You send it the make + model of a product:
@howmuchis nikon d40
…and it tweets you back the three lowest prices, with a rating and link for each seller. The bot tracks millions of items, and is especially good at electronics.

The reasons why twitter bots won’t work, it’s when the whole twitterverse found out about these bots that does nothing but spam their account, you will not only get the “unfollow” but “block”
Auto Follow will make twitter to ban you.

Is there any bot for adding friends?
By Pete on Nov 16, 2010
If you want to be able to do more than just sending your Gtalk status as tweets, you should really check out Chitter.im: a GTalk bot for Twitter, with unique features like tweeting ‘famous quotes’ easily, @ *ttp://chitterim.appspot.com/ . It’s absolutely free and secure (uses oauth to communicate w/ Twitter).
And yes you can add friends with that bot too!
