Experience the Impact of StumbleUpon Traffic!

November 15, 2007 – 12:37 am

James Yeang of Friedbeef stumbled my post, 13 Useful Gmail Email Settings That You Probably Miss Out, and I was quite surprised with the outcome. My site seldom gains traffic this high, so I am quite pleased to share the results with you. Check out the graphics gained from 2 website statistical plugins below to understand the impact StumbleUpon brings to TechMalaya.com.

What I Learn From StumbleUpon Based Traffic

Based on this experience,

  • StumbleUpon is a great way to gain instant traffic, especially if the person that is stumbling your post has significant contributions to the StumbleUpon community.

  • StumbleUpon traffic does not last long so make sure you use them to to earn more fans / feed readers. If you can, create a related entry to the stumbled post so that you can provide better contents for new readers (and earn new subscribers!).

  • StumbleUpon traffic is a great way to test the robustness of your hosting provider. :D

  • Unique and useful posts will increase the chance of being stumbled by somebody.

Any experience of being stumbled by somebody? Why don’t you share it here by leaving some comments? :D

  2. Great to hear that. Congratulations.

SU sends really good traffic, like for example I got and I’m still getting views for a post that I wrote on my blog (over 25,000 pageviews till date) and SU is also sending good traffic to another recent post of mine, already 11,000 views :D

You should also take care to stumble pages in the right category. It’s very important to get targeted visits. :)

  4. Trust me… stumbleupon traffic can suddenly comeb back strong… it’s never really dead ;)

I’ve got some old posts which were stumbled - had their spike, and then came back strong months later, because another group of ppl loved it :)

One more thing… it also depends who stumbled you. I have 100-200 ppl following my stumble discoveries, so when I stumble upon any site, those ppl see my stumbles too. You will get a better effect with higher influencers, and a lower effect with ppl with less followers
