10 Things You Can Do with Mahalo, the Human Powered Search Engine
September 29, 2007 – 1:42 pmMahalo is quite a special search engine. Instead of depending on search engine bots to return search results, they add humans to sort popular search queries into nicely formatted page results – so you can have the best links without having to click and found out the best returned links were actually a spam site. IMHO, it is very practical and a breathe of fresh air compared to other traditional search engine sites.
There are many things you can do with Mahalo, but here are 12 of them that I found most beneficial:
1- Search as you type – sometimes you just forget about what somebody last name is. This is how to solve the problem.

2- Get the best info with Top 7 Mahalo Search Results – great for getting the best news at first glance. You can find this on top of every search results.

3- Instant understanding about search terms with Quick Facts and Guide Note.

4- If Mahalo don’t have a page results about your search terms, it returns back Google search results on its own page. Smart move.

5- Read a Human Guide’s chosen results by clicking on the link with the “Hand” icon by its side.

6- Get instant “Related Searches” term suggestions if what you are looking for is not enough.

7- If you love a Mahalo search results page, why don’t share it on social networking sites?

8- Or share it the old way among friends, by sending emails.

9- You can also help Mahalo improved a search results page by Recommending Links. You can also nominate links to become Mahalo Top 7 search results.

10- Install the Mahalo Follow Firefox extension. What it does is that when you search for information on Google, a Mahalo sidebar will appear in Firefox displaying related information so you can choose and compare the best results from both sides.

Mahalo is a nice addition to the vast number of search engines available on the Net right now. If you haven’t tried it before, I really recommend that you pay this site a visit. It offers something different from what you have seen about search engine before.
