Get Smarter in School with Mozilla Firefox Campus Edition

September 18, 2007 – 6:13 pm

Mozilla Firefox, aiming to be the best browser in the business, recently launched a pumped up version called Mozilla Firefox Campus Edition. This version pre-includes 3 most useful Mozilla Firefox – giving you access to music, access to the coolest websites and an awesome research tool . Other than that, you can install all your favorite add-ons just like you did in the original Mozilla Firefox.

Here are the three plugins that comes automatically with this Campus edition:

1- Zotero – help you collect, manage, and cite your research sources. Great tool for the nerdy students.

2- Foxytunes – allows you to control your music player within Firefox itself. Great fun for audiophiles.

3- Stumbleupon – a great way to find the best reviewed sites that are shared by others. A community rated site sharing tool. Huge fanbase.

Mozilla Firefox Campus Edition, in my opinion is a marketing strategy to woo more college students to use Firefox as their primary browser. If you are already using Firefox, it is not necessary to replace yours with this – all the plugins are installable via the previously mentioned plugin links. With more than 400 million downloads, Mozilla Firefox is still the best browser out there.
