Sneak Preview - Del.icio.us Social Bookmarking Going 2.0
September 7, 2007 – 7:06 pmMichael Arrington from TechCrunch sure is a lucky guy. He and some other lucky people had been invited to the the upcoming Del.icio.us sneak preview. And the site it is not located at the scary del.icio.us domain name anymore! For the sake of previewing their latest design, team delicious used the easy to the eyes delicious.com.

If you are lucky like Michael and got invited, you can login to the preview site via preview.delicious.com. All of your current bookmarks will be imported to the preview site (albeit temporarily) for the sake of beta-testing. If you are not, you can read Michael’s post - Exclusive: Screen Shots And Feature Overview of Delicious 2.0 Preview and pretend that you are happy just to be able to see some static pages.

Based on the screen shots, I am thrilled to see some of Del.icio.us new features:
-
Autocomplete support.
-
Alphabetical sorting and vice versa.
-
Top 10 tags - great for some quick preview of popular tags.
-
Bulk editing support - yay!
-
Contextual search - search your items, a friends item or by default, search all items. Glad that they are thinking like the Google guys.
There are more new features to Delicious 2.0, go check out Michael’s post.

By the way, Del.icio.us announced that there are no guarantees that the upcoming 2.0 upgrade will have the same design or features like this. But seriously Michael, you are one lucky guy! (and your site rocks too!)
