Mozilla Firefox Tips: Add More Search Engines to Search Bar
September 4, 2007 – 8:43 pmIf you are not satisfied with the default search engine that comes with Mozilla Firefox search bar, remember that you can always add more. The extensibility of Mozilla Firefox lets you add more search engines that comes as useful extensions / add-ons to help increase your productivity. Here is an image of search engines that comes default with Mozilla Firefox:

How To Add More Search Engines in Mozilla Firefox
1- Open up your Mozilla Firefox browser. Click on the scroll bar next to the Search Bar (top right of Firefox).
2- Click on “Manage search engines“. Next, click the “Get more search engines” link. The “Firefox Add-ons: Search Engines” page will be opened.

3- Click on any search engine that you want to add. A message box will open up to confirm search engine addition. Don’t forget to select the “Start using it right away” box. For this how-to, I’ve selected Ask.com, a worthy alternative to Google.

4- Your newly added search engine will be displayed on your Mozilla Firefox’s Search Bar.

1- BBC News - search for the latest news from one of the most prominent news network.
2- Amazon A9 -search for things to buy from Amazon.
3- ESPN - search for your latest team matches via ESPN.
4- Flickr - search for nice photos on Yahoo! Flickr.
5- Merriam-Webster - search for words that you don’t know the meaning of instantly.
6- Wikipedia - search for any encyclopedic information via one of the wonders of the Internet.
7- IMDB - search for any movie information via the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).
8- Yahoo! Answers - clear any doubts of any questions. Yahoo! Answers is the right choice.
9- WeatherCentral - get the latest weather information, no matter where you are.
