Twitter Blocks: Check Out Your Microblogging Neighbors

September 3, 2007 – 12:07 am

Recently, Twitter has collaborated with Motorola to create a cool web application called Twitter Blocks. It lets you explore, in a visualized way, of who follows whom in the Twitter microblogging world. To check out your Twitter Blocks, you need to login to your Twitter account and click the Cool New Stuff: Explore Twitter Blocks banner.

Here is an example of my Twitter Blocks:

A single block represents a recent Twitter post and you may have many blocks of your own displayed and it depends on how many Twitter updates you have posted before.

Another thing you can do is click a single block, read the related Twitter post and check out other Twitter user’s neighbor via the “Load User Neighbors” link. The blocks will be destroyed and recreated again once clicked, to represent another friend’s block and friends.

Twitter Blocks is an exceptional way to explore, check out and follow new Twitter friends. What I don’t understand is that why several blocks are higher than another. Can you please tell me if you do know it?
